THE KEY TO A BRIGHTER FUTURE!

On the 19th May 1994 the Wales Tourist Board convened a Wales National Self-Catering Conference. The meeting voted overwhelmingly for the formation of a trade organisation to represent their interests. Following extensive consultation with the trade, The Wales Association of Self Catering Operators or WASCO was launched in 1995.

Who Can Join?

Membership is open to any person or organisation who owns, manages or lets holiday accommodation (other than caravans or tents) in Wales. Members must have applied to participate in the Wales Tourist Board's Grading Scheme within one year of joining.

WASCO campaigns to gain rightful recognition of the cottage holiday industry, as Wales' most successful accommodation sector. We highlight the role our members play in sustaining long-stay, year-round visitor numbers and emphasise the benefits which our businesses bring to the local economy.
WASCO represents the voice of the industry on leading tourism organisations and groups including the Wales Tourism Alliance, the Regional Tourism Companies, Visit Wales, UK Marketing Focus group, and the Federation of National Self Catering Associations (FoNSCA).

WASCO communicates with members through its monthly email newsletter and at its conferences, meetings and AGM.
